A lovely morning in Confelons....in the Charente

Confolens was built around a fortress first mentioned in the eleventh century. It still has picturesque remnants of its medieval past, including city walls and several houses dating from the fifteenth to the eighteenth centuries. It also features a bridge first mentioned in the fourteenth century.

We had a beautiful morning in Confelons, met some friends for coffee.

We walked along the river and it was beautiful with the blue sky reflecting on the water, making it so pretty. It's not until you start looking around that you actually see that there are some very quaint and pretty buildings.

The flowers on display were gorgeous, full bloom and lovely flashes of vibrant colour.

Plenty of birds on roof tops

Carnival time

Delicious Patisserie's

Lovely flower shop

The Church we visited is a Presbytère church , first built in 990, the stained glass windows were stunning, over the years it has had some additional work done and added on.

  1. It all looks lovely, picturesque and peaceful; unlike the grey UK this morning, which though mild is dull, dull and very cloudy.

  3. These photos show what a beautiful day it was during your visit. Sensational. Thanks for playing along with Dreaming of France. I had to drive 1000 miles yesterday, so didn't get to visit everyone.
