Our visit to the UK....

Just returned from our 2 weeks in the UK. We stopped overnight in Gapennes just outside Abbeville on the way north in France. We stayed at La Nicoulette www.nicoulette.com few times now, and the host Solange was very tentative, a very pleasant lady. Certainly one of the nicest places we have stayed in, along with Sarah at www.les-pres-de-mautort.com in Abbeville.

We arrived in Lincoln , a beautiful University City, with such amazing architecture, the Cathedral and Castle are definitely places to visit. Lincoln is also a superb shopping city with a pedestrian high street, with lots of high street stores and unique boutiques. Some delicious restaurants, especially by the Brayford, a marina with boats and plenty of Swans to admire.

During our break in the UK, we went to visit the Historic Market Town of Shrewsbury, lying on the River Severn, another lovely town to go shopping and to admire their Tudor buildings.Shrewsbury still has un unaltered medieval street plan and has over 600 Historic listed buildings.

Then back to the tranquility of Rural French Life...peace and quiet.... wildlife and the start of our wild meadow...

  2. That yard in the bed and breakfast seems surreal with cows and statues and mannequins. Also, love your photos of rural life in France. Thanks for playing along. Here’s my Dreaming of France meme
