Le Saint Jean Restaurant in Nanteuil..

Yet again another superb meal at Le Saint Jean in Nanteuil.  If you have never been to Nanteuil, it is a must whenever you visit France. Steeped in History....I love visiting this village, each visit produces something different.


Nanteuil is very rich in Heritage, it has the remains of a great Benedictine Abbey, one of the oldest in the Charente. Its large square Romanesque tower, called the"Treasury"would have sheltered valuable documents, when the Abbey, under protection of Pope Clement V who had a significant influence on the region.

Also in the village they have an Arboretum, which offers many walks.
