Overnight stop at Les étangs de guibert, Neufchatel-en-saosnois

Well Christmas is over, so we make our way back to France. We decided to have a stopover half way to break the journey up a bit as it gets dark quite early now. We found this lovely place and fortunately booked prior to arriving. It was a shame it was such a dreary, dismal, damp day as we couldn't take photos to appreciate the setting by the River, but you will see from their website was a lovely place it is. The bedroom was lovely and cosy with a smart shower room, and tea and coffee facilities which is unheard of in France. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant, food was amazing, and was lovely just to retreat to our room after the meal.

Frosty morning in Chassiecq..

Brrrrr, Frosty this morning -4 last night. Although it is beautiful sunshine and a lovely blue sky, the perfect day for wrapping up and going for a brisk walk.  The leaves looked pretty covered in Frost against the sky...glistening... and the leaves crisp under foot.....lovely and fresh.

Christmas in Poitiers....

We had a lovely stroll around Poitiers today, the Christmas Market was on, and all the decorations are lightening up the streets. We had a lovely lazy, boozy (well on my part, hubby driving) lunch, lovely atmosphere, everyone getting into the Festive spirit.
