Vendange with friends..

Today has been our first ever vendange. Our friends have a few vines and invited us to join them for a day of Grape Harvesting, with a group of our other friends..

What a superb day....glorious sunshine with a clear blue sky. The sun warming our backs as we clip away the bunches of grapes, with a few being quality controlled by ourselves.

After collection we separated the grapes from the stalks, and took away any bad grapes that may have sneaked in...then off to the press they went...now they are fermenting in their containers.

We stopped for a spot of lunch hosted by the vignerons . A traditional French lunch, of a hearty Chicken stew with crusty bread, cheese and then dessert, washed down with a glass or two of red... and all gathered round a rustic table in an un-renovated house. So very French..it was lovely.

Looking forward to tasting the finished product.. :-)

Hard work but a job well done....would I do it again...definitely.. :-)

A family Summer affair...

It does seem a while since I have been on my blog, but it has been a busy Summer.

We have had family & tiddlywinks out, and it will be the first time they have used our new pool. This has proved to be a great success for them and for us....we have had some really hot long days. A splash has been very welcomed :-)

They also did some Kayaking down the River Charente...

Dining out has always been a great experience for the Tiddlywinks, they love trying different foods, although they do say...I don't want it again .... :-)




They thoroughly enjoy a Paella /meat mix cooked by granddad, that went down very well...

Granddaughter Bobbi made her dad a cake..it was his Birthday...she loves baking, especially with Nannie :-)

Grandson Morgan, did lunch one day, delicious Bruschetta's  ..      

2 of our other Tiddlywinks came out to visit Oscar & Hugo...a bit younger, but they too had a superb time. Feeding the ducks, goats and a pot bellied pig...with the fallen fruit from our fruit trees..

To finish our great week of we went to visit a money Sanctuary called La Vallée des Singes..a superb place to visit...for adults too, we all enjoyed it.
